The living embodiment of a Barbie doll, Donna Mills was born Donna Jean Miller in Chicago on December 11, 1940. After high school, she completed one year of studies at the University of Illinois before dropping out to pursue a career as an actress and dancer. She appeared in several productions at the Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago, and was cast in a touring production of "My Fair Lady," which brought her to New York. There, she began her television career on the daytime soap opera "The Secret Storm" (1954) and made her film debut in The Incident (1967). This was followed by a three-year tenure on another soap, "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing" (1967). In 1971, she co-starred with Clint Eastwood in the popular thriller Play Misty for Me (1971). For the rest of the decade, she had guest roles on many top-rated shows and starred in a bevy of movies for television. In 1980, she joined the cast of the primetime soap "Knots Landing" (1979); as Abby Cunningham, she made the show her own. She left the cast in 1989 but returned for the series finale in 1993. Since then, she has continued to headline numerous television films and occasionally appears in television guest roles. The beautiful actress has never married. She adopted a daughter, Chloe, in 1995. Donna Mills lives in Beverly Hills.
