出生于圣路易斯。她父亲曾为联合国工作驻守与所罗门岛和斐济，所以她童年的时光大部分在南太平洋群岛中度过。之后她搬回了美国，在去好莱坞之前居住于密西根和维吉尼亚。在抵达好莱坞的头一年她曾拍摄过各种露骨角色。
